Departmental Responsibilities:
Finance
The main responsibilities of members in the Finance department include company fundraising, accounting, loan underwriting and collections. The Finance department of Forza Financial is ultimately responsible for the inflow and outflow of capital within the company. This includes invoicing our clients, maintaining balances within the bank account, all fundraising aspects, balancing the annual budget, grant research and writing, underwriting business loans, and the upkeep of cash flow in the business. Interns will work actively at a number of these different duties, in an effort to create funds for loan and operational use.
Investments
Since the first loan was written in April 2012, Forza has written 5 more totaling $7,000 in loans given to entrepreneurs and small business owners in Alabama. The Investments team works extremely hard to write and distribute these small business loans to customers in a timely manner. Each loan is between $500-$5,000 with a low interest rate. Investment interns will receive a variety of training and experiences. They will assist Loan Officers and attend professional development lessons as they train to become a Loan Officer. Each intern will receive a mentor as well as their own intern project. Intern projects will vary and can be customized to an interns strengths or preference. An ideal candidate has excellent people skills, an ability to learn quickly on and off the job, strong organizational skills, self motivated, and must be able to work well together with a team.
Communications
The External Communications Director and Social Media Director lead the communications department of Forza Financial. These positions are kept busy with press releases, content creation and design, external/internal newsletters, community communications and social media management. Interns in this department are assigned projects such as Forza branding, social media overhauls, Month of Microfinance activities and core values projects.
Operations
The Forza Operations department is in charge of many different behind-the-scenes activities that keep the company running such as advertising upcoming Forza opportunities throughout Tuscaloosa and planning events for the company. The department handles human resource responsibilities, such as intern training, company organization and culture, and other miscellaneous duties. Operations also houses the role of technology management, with regards to website and database maintenance and the implementation of new software and other technology.
Business Coaching
Forza's academics team works closely with Alabama's entrepreneur community in a wide range of activities. From hosting and organizing community wide business workshops to one-on-one business advising and consulting sessions with clients, academics team members gain valuable business coaching experience and serve as the public liaisons of Forza. We make sure all of our clients needs are heard and met everyday.
Whether the business has been open for 50 years or has not yet opened its doors, business coaches are available to help develop business ideas, attract new customers, manage books and implement many other helpful business strategies.
